About Us

Snoopy’s Pier has deep roots in Texas coastal history — born from the days of the  Redfish Wars , a pivotal time that changed the commercial fishing industry along the Texas coast. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, founder  Ernie Butler , a commercial fisherman, recognized that the tides were shifting. Rather than battle with changing regulations and Texas Game Wardens, he decided to turn his love for the sea into something new — sharing the very seafood he once caught with the community he loved.

In August of 1980, Ernie and his wife  Corliss  purchased a small bait stand and burger shack with a 600-foot pier on the Intracoastal Waterway. With help from family and friends — and a collection of treasured recipes — Snoopy’s Pier was born. What started as a simple coastal eatery soon grew into a beloved  Corpus Christi waterfront seafood restaurant , known for its warm, family-friendly atmosphere and unbeatable water views.

Through years of dedication and hard work, Snoopy’s evolved while staying true to its roots: offering  fresh, locally harvested seafood  at an honest price. To maintain the highest quality, the Butlers added an on-site fish house and shrimp breading facility, ensuring every plate reflects the freshness of the Gulf.

In 1993,  Scoopy’s  was added next door — a fun, family-friendly spot for ice cream and desserts — making Snoopy’s a full coastal experience for locals and visitors alike.

Today, Snoopy’s Pier remains a  Corpus Christi tradition , celebrated as one of the best on-the-water dining experiences on the Texas Coast. Whether you’re here for fresh Gulf shrimp, a sunset over the bay, or a stroll on the pier, Snoopy’s continues to serve up great food, great memories, and a true taste of the Texas coast.
